Vintages Wine Panel: This is Chilean Carmenère in all its glory. Ripe cherry, plum, black pepper, licorice and menthol notes are wrapped in smooth tannins, culminating in a long finish. A medium- to full-bodied beauty. My note: Delivers smoky dark notes of mocha, coffee, black fruit and earth on the nose. It’s quite robust and rustic but delicious, so decant for two hours before drinking.

Carmenère food pairings: blackened herb-roasted chicken, venison, boar, prime rib with a port-reduction sauce, hard cheeses.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
