Produced from grapes grown at some of the highest elevations in the Yecla region and a savoury blend of 70% Mourvèdre, 20% Syrah and 10% Grenache grapes matured 3 months in small French oak barrels. The winery was founded in 1925 by the Candela family. Look for ripe and rich dark plum, berry and savoury, earthy and dark chocolate flavours finishing long and satisfying.

Monastrell Syrah Tintorera food pairings: grilled pork sausages, meat lover's pizza, grilled smoky ribs.

Reviews and Ratings

Produced by Señorío de Barahonda, Campo Arriba 2017 is a warm and spicy red produced from old vines Monastrell, Syrah and Garnacha Tintorera. Look for bright red cherry, violets, wild strawberry and savoury spice flavours on the palate. Family-owned and operated, Señorío de Barahonda was established in 1925. Currently overseen by Antonio Candela Poveda and his two sons Antonio and Alfredo. Pair with aged cheeses and Iberico ham. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
