Considered the Sicilian version of Pinot Noir with its tart cherry flavours, smooth texture and mouth-watering acidity, this is liquid gorgeous. The difference is a lot more alcoholic heft and warmth. So lovely. Pair with pork tenderloin.

Nerello Mascalese food pairings: ravioli, beef stew, pizza, pork chops.

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Pale ruby garnet, medium+ acidity, some grainy tannins. Cherry, floral, leather, earthy, toast on the nose. Cherry turns to sour cherry on the palate with some pepper. Good warming finish. Perfect gift wine.
Tasted: March 2015
The 2011 vintage of the Nerello Mascalese Feudo di Mezzo is a medium- to almost full-bodied Italian red wine. Decant for 1-2 hours. This is a robust blend of 85% Nerello Mascalese and 15% Nerello Cappuccio grapes. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
