Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The 2012 Burrowing Owl Estate Winery Chardonnay, aged in French and American oaks (90%/10%) for 9 months, has creamy aromas of sweet vanilla, toast, oak and ripe apple on the nose and yellow apple, toast, vanilla and oak on the palate. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity to integrated wine; with lively acidity and a long, creamy finish. This is a food friendly and sipping wine; drink now and for the next 5 years (screw enclosure). My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 90 pts – recommended for its quality. Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
