Reviews and Ratings

A rustic, robust Bulgarian red wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. A little stemmy and green on the nose and palate. Pair with a rare steak. MINE: From the Thracian Valley in Bulgaria, Thracian Lowlands Bulgariana (2012) is a dark garnet in the glass that it almost looks black. But in the nose there is ripe black cherries, raspberries, mocha and spice. Drink now and at this price, drink often. OTHER: Ruby in the glass, the nose offers aromas of black plum, blackberry, brown spices and a whiff of cotton candy. On the palate, there are flavors of black cherry, dried plum and blackberry. The tannins are smooth and the persistent finish has a touch of black pepper spice. Ranked #18 in Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 Best Buys 2018. Score - 90 (Jeff Jenssen, Wine Enthusiast, May 1, 2018). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
