Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Slowly getting traction amongst the world's wine elite are Uruguay's iteration of the Southwestern French grape, Tannat. It is an intensely coloured and structured wine that thrives in the humid heat of the Canelones region.
Sometimes Tannat will be blended with other grapes to soften the rpugh edges of a wine. This producer does mostly stand-alone varietals. This is pure new-wprld Tannat. Full-bodied wine lovers, eat your heart out.
Dense purple and ruby hues.
It looks and smells very Madiran, but with some ripe candied red and purple fruit to it.
The spices revolve a lot around vanilla, charcoal, anise, clove, and tobacco.
Once it has a good decant of at least a half hour, some raspberry and stewed plum comes out. It is a heavily structured wine.
This would be a great mid-term cellar addition to spring on that person you know who only drinks South American.
Pair it with flank steak and roasted veggies.
Bracco Bosc Ombu Classico (2015) is a full-bodied, dry and fleshy Tannat from Uruguay. An ombú is a type of evergreen tree; there's a very old one in front of the Bracco Bosca winery. Solid tannins on this beauty. Pair with a rare beefsteak. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
