Bordertown Cabernet Franc from Okanagan Valley is a layered, medium-bodied red offering aromas of ripe blackcurrant, dried thyme, and hints of toasted spice. It's dry with supple tannins and vibrant acidity. Serve it at room temperature with roasted venison as the wine's savory depth and concentrated fruit will enhance the gamey richness beautifully, or pair it with seared duck breast where the wine's herbal complexity and persistent finish will complement the crispy skin and tender meat perfectly. Legendary consulting winemaker Daniel Bontorin, devoted to crafting wines that reflect their varietal character, produces this wine for owner Mohan Gill and his family, who opened Bordertown Vineyards and Estate Winery near Osoyoos in May 2015 as the culmination of a lifetime dream. For over twenty years, the Gills have supplied some of the Okanagan's best fruit to select wineries, and their 100% estate-grown Cabernet Franc earned international recognition when noted UK wine critic Jamie Goode discovered it at Germany's ProWein trade show and alerted other writers to taste this game-changing South Okanagan varietal. Enjoy now or cellar for 3-5 years.

Cabernet Franc food pairings: roasted venison loin, seared duck breast, beef tenderloin with wild mushrooms.
