Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a juicy Spanish blend of Merlot, Cabernet, Tempranillo and Syrah and boy is it dense! An almost opaque purple colour in the glass and an abundance of blackberry on the nose. This full-bodied red wine is smoothing, supple and easy to drink. Tertiary notes of earthiness, floral, black plum, cassis, pepper and warm baking spices. Good acid to fruit ratio. Drinking nicely now but could be enjoyed over the next 5 years. Enjoy with braised lamb shank.
Tasted: April 2017
From the Navarra wine region in Spain, Viña Magaña (2010) is a red wine blend of 35% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Tempranillo and 10% Syrah. The wine was aged over a year in 70% new and 30% old French oak and is structured, deep purple in colour, dark fruit and smokey on the palate. Drink now and for the next three years. - Community Wine Reviews
