Bindi Sergardi Ser Gardo Chianti Classico from Tuscany opens with aromas of tart red cherry, dark plum, crushed violets, and wet stone with whispers of sage and tobacco leaf. Dry and medium-bodied with finely woven, polished tannins, it glides across the palate with concentrated dark berry fruit before finishing with persistent length and lively acidity. Serve it slightly below room temperature or cellar it through 2036. Alessandra Casini Bindi Sergardi, who manages the estate alongside her sister Maddalena, represents the 23rd generation of her family, continuing a legacy that began in 1349 when ancestor Niccoluccio Bindi organized an army that defeated the Aretines and was subsequently elected to the Government of the Republic of Siena, and this wine is dedicated to Niccolò Sergardi who served as the Sir Guardian (Governor) of Siena in 1530 during one of the city's most turbulent political periods. Pair this opulent red with herb-roasted chicken where the wine's vibrant acidity cuts through the savory, crisp skin, or enjoy it with mushroom and sausage rigatoni as the wine's earthy notes beautifully complement the umami-rich flavors.

Chianti Classico food pairings: herb-roasted chicken, mushroom and sausage rigatoni, aged Pecorino cheese.
