Bindi Sergardi I Colli Riserva Chianti Classico Sangiovese is a noble, age-worthy expression of Tuscany from one of the region's most ancient wine dynasties, an estate whose roots reach back to 1349 and whose family has been among the founding members of the Chianti Classico Consorzio since 1924. Under the stewardship of Alessandra Casini Bindi Sergardi, now the 23rd generation to tend these Sienese hillsides, winemakers Stefano di Blasi and Federico Cerelli craft this Riserva from 100% Sangiovese grown on high-elevation Alberese limestone soils, fermenting in stainless steel before extended aging in large oak barrels that gently round the wine without masking its terroir-driven character. It pours a deep, vivid ruby and delivers a layered, complex nose of dried sour cherry, wild rose and dark forest floor, with an earthy mineral undercurrent evoking the estate's ancient Alberese soils and a thread of dried sage that adds intrigue. On the palate it is full-bodied and dry, with a beautifully structured frame of refined, grippy tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, resonant finish that unfolds with patience in the glass. Serve it at slightly below room temperature and plan to cellar it well into 2040, though it is already showing impressive harmony. It is magnificent alongside a bistecca alla Fiorentina with rosemary-roasted potatoes, where the wine's structure and Tuscan soul are on full display, or pair it with a slow-braised wild boar ragù over pappardelle for a deeply satisfying, classically Sienese experience.

Chianti Classico food pairings: bistecca alla Fiorentina with rosemary-roasted potatoes, slow-braised wild boar ragù over pappardelle, roasted lamb shoulder with garlic and fresh herbs.
