Beronia Gran Reserva from Rioja is a full-bodied and elegant red blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo aged for 28 months in French oak barrels, revealing aromas of sandalwood, toasted spice and dark fruit with layers of stewed plum, crushed strawberry, dried thyme and espresso on the palate. Serve it at room temperature with herb-crusted rack of lamb, where the wine's refined tannins and supple flow complement the tender meat's richness while the oak-driven notes echo the herb crust, or pair it with aged Manchego and Ibérico ham as the wine's smooth, polished character stands up to the intense, savoury flavors. Winemaker Ana Barrón oversees production at Beronia for González Byass, the renowned sherry house that acquired this Rioja estate in 1982 and has elevated it to become one of the region's most consistent and acclaimed producers. This crowd-pleasing Gran Reserva can be enjoyed now or cellared through 2040 as its complexity continues to develop.

Gran Reserva food pairings: pork tenderloin, pizza, pasta, hard cheese.
