Love this juicy and rich red blend 38% Shiraz, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Petite Sirah, 7% Zinfandel, 6% Tannat, 3% Mouvedre and 3% Malbec from the Paso Robles wine region in California. Lovely with ripe dark berry, cherry, earthy and dark chocolate flavours and a savoury mouthful. Pair with barbequed beef long ribs.

Food pairings: grilled meats, sausage cassoulet, vegetarian chili.

Reviews and Ratings

From Beringer, The Waymaker 2016 is a rich, medium-plus-bodied Cabernet-driven red blend from Paso Robles, California. Juicy and lush with ripe dark cherry, red berry, pepper spice and dark chocolate flavours on the palate. Well-made and well-priced. Founded in 1876, the iconic Beringer was one of California's first premium producers and is the state's oldest operating winery. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
