Reviews and Ratings

A full-bodied, vibrant Argentine red wine made a robust blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and some Malbec grapes. Fine polished tannins and deep minerality. A terrific representation of Uco Valley terroir. The viticulturist is Edy del Popolo, also winemaker. MINE: From Argentina's Uco Valley, Benmarco Expresivo (2014) is just that -- expressive, with dark, rich berries and violet on the nose, rich, structured and elegant on the palate. The wine is produced from 80% Malbec and 20% Cabernet Franc. OTHER: Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Rich, plummy and chocolatey! The mouthfeel shows 'dusty' tannins, a fine balance of acidity, alcohol and ripe concentrated fruit flavours. I'm really loving it! Not a bad deal for great quality, body, balance, and length. Tasted Jan 2017 - @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca. OTHER: Deep bright ruby. Pungent aromas of blackberry, cassis, violet and licorice, plus a suggestion of crushed rock. Juicy and fine-grained, with a slightly green quality keeping the wine under wraps today. Finishes with a strong but fine dusting of tannins and repeating minerality. This wine is still a bit clenched and green and needs time to unwind. But does it have the depth to repay patience? Drinking window: 2019-2023. Score - 89 (Stephen Tanzer, vinous.com, July 2017). - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
