A robust, generous and well-balanced Shiraz from the Barossa Valley, produced from 30 to 100 year old grapevines. "Bishop" is the maiden name of Judith Glaetzer, wife of Colin, who started the winemaking family business in the Barossa Valley 30 years ago. Today Ben continues the tradition. The vines are dry-farmed in the Ebenezer sub-region. Concentrated with layers of ripe blueberry, dark cherry liqueur, raspberry, baking spice finishing with supple tannins and vibrant, food-friendly acidity. Pair with all things steak.

Shiraz food pairings: game meats, rare roast beef, spice-braised lamb, burgers with blue cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

From the Ebenezer subregion in the northern reaches of the Barossa Valley wine region, Ben Glaetzer Bishop 2017 Shiraz is a fabulous, rich, robust Shiraz produced from 30-to-100 year old grapevines. The wine has seen extensive oak ageing with 15 months in 40% new 245-litre barrels, 90% French and 10% American all well-integrated. Mouth-watering and rich with ripe blueberry, cherry, raspberry and baking spice flavours on its full-bodied frame and so good. Pair with a rib roast done rare.- Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
