Reviews and Ratings

Marianne rated this wine as 86/100
Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

2009 Vintage
Pale garnet in colour, this wine displays strawberry, raspberry, leather, mushroom, black pepper, black earth, cinnamon, and bitter almond. Medium plus grippy tannins, medium body, and mouthwatering acidity carry the flavours on the astringent, warming finish.
Drink now, or cellar until 2017.
Pair with grilled beef and lamb.
Date tasted: April 2014.
Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

The colour is deep ruby-garnet red that turns brick red with age. The nose is ethereal, intense, with notes of spices and dried fruits. Offers great finesse on the nose and palate, which is dry, full-bodied, imposing-yet-elegant, austere-but-velvety.

Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

La couleur est d’un rouge rubis grenat qui prend la couleur de brique en vieillissant. Le nez est omniprésent, intense avec des notes d’épices et de fruits séchés. Offre une grande finesse au nez et au palais qui est sec, charnu, imposant, élég

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
