Basilica Cafaggio's Single Estate Chianti Classico from Tuscany is a juicy, medium-bodied red wine crafted from 100% Sangiovese with notes of sour cherry, wild strawberry, dried oregano and smoke. This dry wine displays fine tannins and vibrant acidity that make it ideal for pairing with Italian cuisine. Serve it slightly below room temperature with rigatoni Bolognese as the wine's bright acidity cuts through the rich meat sauce, or pair it with margherita pizza where the wine's cherry fruit complements the fresh mozzarella and tomato. Winemaker Stefano Farkas ages this expressive Chianti twelve months in traditional Slavonian oak barrels to add subtle spice while preserving the wine's crunchy, agile character. Basilica Cafaggio is a historic single estate in the heart of the Chianti Classico zone, where Sangiovese has been cultivated for centuries on the region's distinctive galestro soils. This succulent, food-friendly Chianti represents exceptional value under $20 and is best enjoyed now through 2026.

Chianti Classico food pairings: pasta and rich tomato sauce, cheesy pizza, meat lasagne.
