Reviews and Ratings

Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

An intriguing wine made from the traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape varietals.

Appearance: Dark garnet, no hint of orange around the edges. Typical, I think, for this type of wine.
Nose: Chocolate, leather, and grilled meat (maybe lamb).
Taste: There’s a subtle sweetness that comes out in the mouth, like caramel and chocolate. Tannic at the beginning even with decanting, but it did open and mellow out over time. It was better with food than without. I had it with my tomato, green onion, and (plenty of) parmesan cheese Risotto, with which it paired well.
Finish: Some sweetness and leather in the finish.
Overall impression: A nice Châteauneuf-du-Pape. I’ve had better but I would drink this one again.

Value: 2.5 out of 5. It’s a little pricey, though that seems to be expected from Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
