Barossa Valley Estate E&E Black Pepper 2020 is a rich, savoury Shiraz with ripe dark berry, plum, earthy violets, cracked black pepper and bitter chocolate flavours, full-bodied and fleshy on the palate. Lots going on here on this Barossa Valley red with fresh acidity and amazingly solid tannins. Needs some time in bottle, but can take on anything from the barbeque if having now. Do decant it for an hour or two prior to pouring it with ribs from the grill, or give it more time to come into its own around 2026 and enjoy it through 2036.

Shiraz food pairings: grilled ribeye steak, roast boar, slow-braised beef long ribs.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
