A truly classic Chianti in all senses, from signature aromas of dark fruit, sun-dried tomato and dried herbs, to mouth-watering acidity for a wide range of dishes from pasta in tomato sauce to spicy sausages. This wine is a blend of mostly Sangiovese grapes, with a little Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2013 vintage was a strong though you'll want to decant this wine 1-2 hours before serving. Even better leave it in the cellar for a few more years at least. Finishes with baking spices, dried herbs. Pair with game meats, Italian sausage or meats sauces.

Chianti Classico food pairings: stuffed roasted turkey, steak topped pizza, pasta in tomato sauce, breaded veal cutlets.

Terrific Turkey Wine

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromas are moderate and alluring. Dominant notes include earth, cherry, sage, and mint. Mint is prominent on the finish. Enjoy this earthy and tangy medium bodied red with braised beef lasagna. Tasted Nov 2016 - @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Barone Ricasoli's Rocca Guicciarda Riserva 2013 Chianti is classic with a nose of rich, ripe red fruit and dried herbs. Mostly made from Sangiovese grapes, a small amount of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon finish this luxurious wine screaming for rich tomato sauce, venison meatballs and pasta. - Community Wine Reviews
