Barking Owl's Shiraz from Perth Hills, Great Southern, Western Australia is a rich, medium to full-bodied red wine showcasing notes of blackberry preserves, plum, fruitcake and white pepper. This dry wine displays supple tannins and bright acidity that make it immediately approachable. Serve it at room temperature with spice-rubbed lamb burgers as the wine's peppery character complements the grilled meat, or pair it with beef and mushroom pie where the wine's richness matches the savory filling and buttery pastry. Winemaker Damian Hutton crafts this Shiraz for Millbrook Winery, drawing fruit from the cool-climate Perth Hills where maritime influences and elevation create ideal conditions for elegant, food-friendly wines. The Barking Owl label takes its name from the rare nocturnal bird native to Western Australia, a fitting tribute to the region's unique biodiversity and pristine environment. This approachable Shiraz represents exceptional value and will drink beautifully through 2029.

Shiraz food pairings: gourmet burgers, lamburgers, meatloaf, tourtiere.
