Barbanera Super Tuscan from Tuscany is a lush, medium to full-bodied red showcasing aromas of dark cherry, toasted oak, and dried oregano. It's dry with polished tannins and a velvety texture. Serve it slightly below room temperature with beef tenderloin medallions as the wine's smooth structure and concentrated fruit will complement the meat's richness beautifully, or pair it with grilled portobello mushrooms and aged Pecorino cheese where the wine's earthy depth and elegant finish will enhance the umami flavors perfectly. Winemaker Sofia Barbanera, who now leads the estate alongside her sister Agnese, crafts this wine in the Super Tuscan tradition pioneered by Piero Antinori in the 1970s—blending international varieties with native Sangiovese to create wines that transcend traditional Italian classifications. Founded in 1938 by Altero and Maria Franceschini in the picturesque hilltop town of Cetona, the family winery joined Italian Wine Brands in 2023 while maintaining its commitment to sustainable viticulture practices. Enjoy now or cellar for 3-4 years.

Food pairings: beef tenderloin medallions, grilled portobello mushrooms with aged Pecorino, spaghetti Bolognese.
