Natalie's Score: 93/100

From the Rheingau wine region, Balthasar Ress Hattenheimer Schützenhaus 2016 Riesling is pale lemon colour in the glass and has just enough sweetness. Some petrol and orange blossom on the nose with wet stone and fresh peach, ripe apple flavours on the palate. Refreshing acidity and a slight effervescence to pair with spicy, fried or rich foods.

Riesling Kabinett food pairings: roast chicken, spicy pasta dishes, shrimp tempura, grilled salmon with lemon sauce, duck liver pate.

Remarkable Roast Chicken Wine

From the Rheingau wine region, Balthasar Ress Hattenheimer Schützenhaus 2016 Riesling is pale lemon colour in the glass and has just enough sweetness to pair with spicy, fried or rich foods. Look for white florals, flint and sweet peach flavours on the palate. Just a delightful, fresh and zesty 100% Riesling. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
