Aves del Sur Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is a commanding, full-bodied red from the Maipo Valley, often called the Bordeaux of South America and widely regarded as Chile's spiritual home for Cabernet Sauvignon, where warm days, cool Andean nights, and well-drained alluvial soils deliver grapes of exceptional concentration and character. The nose is deeply inviting, with ripe blackcurrant, dark plum, a streak of mocha, and a cedar-edged spice that signals serious oak aging. On the palate the wine is rich and structured, with plush, well-integrated tannins, a core of dark fruit that carries through to a long, warming finish underscored by notes of bitter chocolate and dried herbs. Serve it at room temperature and cellar it confidently through 2040. This Gran Reserva earned a Grand Gold at the prestigious Mundus Vini Spring Tasting 2025, where it was also recognized as Best of Show Chile Red, a remarkable double distinction at one of Europe's most competitive wine competitions. Chile's natural geographic isolation, bounded by the Andes, the Pacific, the Atacama Desert, and Antarctica, has uniquely protected its vines from phylloxera, meaning many of the country's vines still grow on their own original rootstock.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: prime rib with roasted garlic and horseradish cream, charcoal-grilled T-bone with chimichurri, aged manchego with black olive tapenade.
