Really perfumed with ripe berry, peach and some rose petals. Full-bodied with firm, chewy tannins that are powdery and layered, yet polished. Extremely attractive finish with fruit and tannins. Bigger style. Try after 2024 [through mid-2030s]. (James Suckling,jamessuckling.com,September 25, 2024) MINE: From the Piedmont wine region, Aurelio Settimo Rocche Dell'annunziata 2017 Barolo is produced from 100% Nebbiolo and is perfumed with violets, pink florals, tar, leather and balsamic notes vibrant and long on the palate. Tannins are fine-grained and chewy. Good now, better in 2024. NEW: Aurelio Settimo farms the celebrated Rocche dell'Annunziata cru in La Morra, one of Barolo's most prized vineyard sites. Dark cherry and cracked pepper carry the nose, warm cedar trailing behind. Chewy, layered tannins carry serious length, firm and structured throughout. Reach for roast leg of lamb or venison burgers.

Barolo food pairings: roast leg of lamb, beef stew, venison burgers.
