Superiore / A modern-style Italian red wine, with fleshy ripe blackberry and lots of toasty oak. This Italian Superiore red wine is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot grapes. This wine is aged in small oak barrels for 18 months and then another 10 months in bottle before being released from the winery. Pair with rare cuts of beef. MINE: Antinori Guado Al Tasso 2015 is a medium-bodied red blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot grapes sourced from the Bolgheri wine region. This is a beautiful bright and ripe red cherry, raspberry compote and spice red with elegance and structure. The wine was aged in small oak barrel for 18 months and 10 months in bottle prior to its release. Decant two hours prior to serving with a Bistecca alla Fiorentina done rare. Drink now and for the next 10 years. OTHER: From alluvial soil of mostly clay and sand, Guado al Tasso is Antinori's top Bolgheri wine. It's a classic Bordeaux blend this year without any Petit Verdot - less bold and rich in style than the 2015 but otherwise extremely elegant and drinkable. It's dark and concentrated, opening to aromas of restrained cassis, clean leather and a hint of earthy minerality. The firm yet ripe palate develops flavours of dense, supple brambly fruit and chocolate. It's a bit warming on the finish but is otherwise extremely well balanced. Drinking Window: 2019-2040. Score - 96 (Aldo Fiordelli, decanter.com, June 23, 2019). - Community Wine Reviews

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
