A full-bodied, juicy, flavourful Australian Cabernet from Alkoomi, owned by Merv and Judy Lange, who planted vines more than 30 years ago. They are now one of the largest family-owned wineries in this region. Blackberry-rich with robust flavours and layers. Rockin’ big wine.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled porterhouse steaks, gourmet burgers, grilled veal chops.

Reviews and Ratings

From Frankland River in Western Australia, Alkoomi Black Label 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is robust, deep ruby in colour with ripe dark fruit and berry fruit. Tannins are quite firm and need taming, but this Cab Sauv is showing great promise and at a fantastic price right now. Cellar for five years or decant for two hours and pair with a rare cut of beef steak or hardy game stew. Alkoomi’s proprietors, Merv and Judy Lange planted their first vines over 30 years ago. Eight blocks are harvested over 2 weeks, matured in French oak (some new) for one year. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
