A terrific, robust Australian chardonnay produced by The Yard Wine Company. A mouth-watering acidity balances the luscious tropical fruit flavours here. Green apple vibrancy is blanketed in toasted hazelnut. Full-bodied and generous. Highly recommended. Pair this full-bodied chardonnay with pasta and rich chicken dishes (naturally).

Chardonnay food pairings: Dover sole, steak and a BĂ©arnaise sauce, pasta with tomato sauce, pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

I've said it before that sometimes you can't quite put a finger on it and this wine falls into that category. There's something akin to a root vegetable aroma in this wine coupled with matchstick, lemon, oak, toast and sweet spices. I'd like a little more acidity to cleanse the palate. At $20 the risk is low to sample it again.
Tasted: February 2016
This Australian white wine from The Yard Wine Company is whimsically named the Ad Lib Hen & Chicken Oaked Chardonnay but was originally called the "Ad Hoc" in Australia. In North America, the wine's name was changed to avoid confusion with chef Thomas Keller's Napa Valley restaurant Ad Hoc. The Gingin clone of the Chardonnay grape is used in this wine. - Community Wine Reviews
