Sweet purple and black plums on the nose with dark spices. Juicy, smooth, supple and full-bodied. This Californian Zinfandel demands barbecued meats. The small batch Zin is aged in new and used bourbon oak barrels, which adds a lick of spice and caramel on the finish.

Zinfandel food pairings: grilled hangar steak, sausage casserole, Hawaiian pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

1000 Stories 2015 is a bourbon barrel aged California Zinfandel. Make no mistake that this wine is over 15% alcohol, but the barrel ageing has softened the heat. The barrels give the wine more structure, complexity and make this smoky, spicy red with ripe dark fruit flavours on the palate, just delicious and approachable, but feed it barbequed beef ribs and rare cuts of beefsteak. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
