Red Wine

Fattoria le Pupille Elisabetta Geppetti Poggio Valente 2022, Tuscany I.G.T., Italy: Fattoria le Pupille Elisabetta Geppetti Poggio Valente from Tuscany is a refined, medium-bodied red offering aromas of wild violet, dried iris, and hints of wet river stone. It's dry with fine-grained tannins and energetic acidity. Serve it slightly below room temperature with grilled lamb chops as the wine's mineral clarity and bright red fruit will enhance the meat's savory richness beautifully, or pair it with aged Pecorino cheese where the wine's elegant structure and persistent finish will complement the cheese's crystalline complexity perfectly. Elisabetta Geppetti, affectionately known as "The Lady of Morellino" and "Ambassador of Maremma," crafts this wine from 100% Sangiovese grown in the Poggio Valente vineyard she purchased in 1996, located at 280-300 meters elevation on sandy soils facing southwest toward the medieval village of Pereta. Working alongside oenologist Luca D'Attoma since 2012, she matures this wine for 15 months in large oak tonneaux (20% new) followed by an additional 12 months in bottle, a shift away from smaller barrels that allows for more varietal expression and luminous elegance. Enjoy from 2025 or cellar for 10-15 years. Food pairings: grilled lamb chops, aged Pecorino cheese, wild boar ragu. White Wine

Château de Nages Jt White 2023, Costières De Nîmes, Rhône A.O.C., France: Château de Nages' JT White from Costières de Nîmes, Rhône is a killer, medium to full-bodied white wine blending Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Clairette and Viognier with notes of jasmine, ripe peach, elderflower and toasted hazelnut. This dry wine displays voluptuous richness and deep, layered mouthfeel that will continue to develop over the next six years. Serve it chilled with grilled chicken with lemon and thyme as the wine's seamless texture complements the citrus-herb poultry, or pair it with planked salmon where the wine's vibrant acidity balances the rich fish. Winemaker Michel Gassier crafts this stunning wine with subtle vanilla nuances alongside apricot, butterscotch, cinnamon and crushed fennel seed, aging it eight months in 500-liter oak barrels to create remarkable integration. This exceptional white will compete with any number of top Châteauneuf du Pape Blancs with its opulent, rounded finish. This truly outstanding wine represents excellent quality and will drink beautifully through 2032. Food pairings: grilled chicken with lemon and thyme, planked salmon, quiche. Drink: 2026 - 2032 485854 14.5% XD 750 mL $29.95 Score: 96/100. March 2026. Full Review Add to Shopping Cart
