This wine is a pretty great value every year, but stock up on the 15s. 2015 was a fantastic year for the Rhône and it shows in this wine.
This wine, from Gassier's production area between Nîmes and the western Rhône Delta, is not only a concentrated and rich offering, but it has lots of structure.
Deep ruby, with some darker hues towards the core. Aromas of pot pourri, date, blackberries, cherry, chocolate, allspice, earth, and white pepper.
The flavours are long and pure. It doesn't receive a tremendous oaking - just enough.
Flavours of red amd black berries. Some cocoa and baking spices. Olives, subtle minerality, and some charred wood on the finish.
This wine often has some good tannin amdnacids etc..., but this wine is just a notch above how it typically tastes at this stage. I would even consoder laying it down for 5ish years. Maybe longer.
Kalamata olives and tapas would be a great match for this wine.
