Greg Hughes rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Morgon is probably the best known of the Beaujolais cru villages; up in the northern part of the region. It is known for being more full flavoured than the other crus and having enough structure to last a long time. Beaujolais is always 100% Gamay Noir. Old Morgon is something truly special. Keep this guy back five years and watch the magic. This is really good Gamay - fresh and fruity.
Dark purple, with a ruby/pink rim.
Nervy and full of energy. Raspberry, vanilla, damson, fresh blackberry, pulverized rock dust, and violet.
Flavours of raspberry, blackberry, and tons of mineral grip. Probably partial carbonic or whole cluster fermented, though sometimes this producer ferments Gamay like Pinot Noir would be North of Beauj, in Burgundy. Ageable for a few years (5-7).
Put this with roasted duck, leek soup, or assorted grilled veggies and brie.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
