Excellent value in this robust, juicy, tasty and savoury Italian red wine. Lovely smoky, oak-mocha on the nose and palate. This wine uses the Ripasso method of grapes to add depth and flavour.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A pleasant wine with notes of ripe cherry, red plum, raspberry floral blossoms and baking spice. Moments after being poured into the glass, this wine opens up and shows a dried fruit and savoury note. The fruit presence is similar on the palate with a slight green (savoury) finish. A lovley food wine! Pizza, pasta, charcuterie, porchetta..... the list goes on... You name it and this wine could match it well. Tasted May 2016. @sommsosa @bespoketastings
This 2011 Ripasso is an excellent value rich and savoury Italian red under $20. Look for dried fruit, cedar spice and cherry liqueur flavours on this smokey red. Pair with braised beef ribs. - Community Wine Reviews
