Greg Hughes rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This robust, yet pretty red comes from Faugères - a small pocket in Languedoc known for their harsh climate and structured reds.
Domaine Frèderic Brouca keeps a viticultural philosophy of minimal interference. They keep a healthy vineyard space free of pesticide, there is minimal sulfur used, it is unfiltered, and wild yeasts are utilized.
It's a blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan fermented partially with whole clusters and aged ten months in oak.
Deep ruby colouration.
The wine is firm and very aromatic. Loads of crushed rocks, wild raspberry and blackberry, brambley leaf, roasted coffee bean, cigar smoke, leather, tar, and a slight meatiness.
Loads of spice(dried herb, pepper, and mint), but supremely fresh red and black fruit still dominate. White pepper and smokiness on a lingering finish.
Many reds from languedoc become overripe - robbing the wine of balance and structure. DFB is careful to harvest early to maintain the quality and ageability of their reds.
Fun fact: the southern extremes in France can prove too hot for Syrah, which needs a cool dormant period in the winter to survive.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
