Paul Lupinacci rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The quality of Wild Thing is consistent with the reputation of its wine maker, Carol Shelton, for producing a great premium Zinfandel. Ms Shelton is one of the most decorated wine makers in the USA, and this wine certainly lives up to her standards.
This wine is a lighter shade of red than many Zins. The bouquet is fruity with honey and floral hints, and definitely benefits from breathing and/or decanting. On the palette the wine is very smooth with flavours of cherry, plum jam and berries. The finish is wonderfully long and very well balanced. Overall this is an excellent Zin.

Carol draws on her poetry roots to give her wines whimsical, creative names that reflect their character. The playful name of this wine, along with its attractive bottle, make it a fine gift, with a good story. An added bonus is that Carol Shelton produces wines using sustainable practices.

Pair with roasted poultry or with appetizers like baked Brie, hot artichoke dip or eggplant (like melitzanosalata). Also pairs very well with dark chocolate.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
