The 2018 vintage of the medium-bodied Maximin Grünhaus Riesling is a blend of grapes from three grand cru vineyards and it shows in the glass. Lovely aromas of guava, melon and mango. Racy acidity with a long finish.

Riesling food pairings: grilled chicken and veggie kebabs, spiced pulled pork, roast pork with quince and applesauce.

Perry rated this wine as 88/100
Von Schubert Maximin Grünhaus 2018 Riesling Qualitätswein is produced from wine grapes sourced from wine grapes from three grand crus in the Mosel wine region. Fragrant with tropical fruit, flinty and wet stone aromas on the nose, smooth and weighty on the palate. Fermentation is in a mix of stainless-steel tank and large oak tuns with the oak harvested from the estate’s own forest and are crafted by a local cooper. The von Schubert estate is steeped in wine history, from the time of the order of Benedictine monks who owned it from the 10th to 18th century and cultivating the vines in the Abstberg, Herrenberg and Bruderberg vineyards, to its current owner, Dr Carl von Schubert, whose family acquired it in the 19th century and who has lived there ever since. - Community Wine Reviews
