Purple Angel is a cult classic with its lush, elegant and smooth red wine blend of 92% Caménère and 8% Petit Verdot grapes. Nearly opaque in the glass with rich aromas of blackberry, plum, and blackcurrant, very subtle green pepper, cocoa and oak spice flavours that flow across the palate. Tannins are silky smooth. Enjoy now and for the next five years. So good!

Food pairings: veal roast, slow-cooked brisket of beef, rabbit fricassee.

Reviews and Ratings

From the Colchagua Valley wine region, Montes Purple Angel 2016 pleases all the senses. Produced mostly from Chile's signature wine grape, Caménère, the wine is opaque violet-red in the glass. No shortage of aromas or flavours here, but all in perfect balance. Generous and juicy with ripe cherry, bell pepper, blackberry and plum flavours leading into dark sensuous chocolate, savoury dried herbs creamy on the palate finishing long and satisfying with balanced acidity. Buy it by the case. - Community Wine Reviews
