One of the most spectacular vintages of one of Canada's greatest wines. Oculus towers above the rest in its superb breadth, depth and length. Seductive and brooding aromas of dark fruit, violets, spices and smoke. The 2007 vintage is a blend of Merlot (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (24%), Cabernet Franc (21%), and Petit Verdot (5%). It was aged for 16.5 months in French oak, 63% of which was new. All of this coddling results in a wine that delivers hedonistic ripples of pleasure on the palate. Perfect for when you cash in your Google stock (and sigh with relief that you didn't rush into Facebook). Cheers!

Cabernet Blend food pairings: filet mignon, prime rib.

Reviews and Ratings

The 2007 Oculus is a triumph of power and purity, with deep, haunting aromas of both
red and dark fruits, fresh tobacco leaf, leather, maple and hints of nutmeg. The immense palate shows black raspberry, milk chocolate, cassis and allspice, all framed by ultra fine tannins and balancing acidity. The finish is endless, hinting that this wine will continue to improve over the next five years and last well beyond a decade.
