The Melon de Bourgogne wine grapes for this zesty, leesy Muscadet Sevre-et-Maine's sur lie are hand-harvested from 40-70 year-old vines. Lovely and lemony on the nose and palate with crisp apple crunch, vibrant citrus, fresh green herb and stony mineral flavours from beginning to finish on a medium-bodied frame. "Le Fils des Gras Moutons" translates as "the children of fat sheep." And while I don't think it would pair with mouton or lamb chops, it could definitely cut through the richness of any seafood or shellfish dish.

Le Fils des Gras Moutons 2018 is a Muscadet Sèvre-Et-Maine sur lie from the Loire wine region showing vibrant acidity with crunchy green apple, lemon and chalky mineral flavours on the palate. Produced by Claude Branger, vign.-récolt. and just great value under $20. Pair with fresh-steamed shellfish dishes. - Community Wine Reviews
