Lime zest lift and juicy wonderful on the palate! This dry Chenin Blanc white wine offers lemon essence aromas with shafts of mouth-watering chives running through it. The vines for this French white wine are 20 to 55 years of age, and it's all Chenin Blanc grapes. Finishes with apple blossom, bone dry. Edged and trimmed with terrific citric acidity. Loads of juicy acidity: it's a gorgeous gusher. Love it! Try it with goat cheese.

Vouvray food pairings: goat cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a dry 100% Chenin Blanc from Domaine de Vaugondy. Grapes are grown on the siliceous clay soils around Vernou sur Brenne, close to Vouvray. Lemon zesty, with white stone fruit and light herb flavours on the palate and a lingering mineral and chalky finish. Wine grapes are vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tank preserving fresh fruit flavours as is showing on this 2012 vintage (tasted October 2018) which is still very fresh, crisp and clean on the palate with great acidity for creamy seafood dishes.
Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Alex: Rarely does a dry Vouvray grace our shelves in Ontario, and fortunately this is a fine example. Typically Chenin Blanc nose, with honey, peach, shallots and seawater. Medium in body however quite saturated with fruit, peaches, honey and a creaminess makeup the palate, with a zesty saline bite on the finish. Fine resonating length, one of the better Vouvrays released throughout the year. 88 pts
This French white wine is made from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes and offers white florals and green apple aromas and flavours. Grapefruit acidity on the palate makes your mouth water. Serve well chilled. Pair with shellfish.
