Château de Bel-Air Lalande-de-Pomerol from Bordeaux is a powerful, full-bodied red offering aromas of wild blackcurrant, toasted vanilla, and hints of crushed violet. It's dry with muscular tannins and concentrated dark fruit. Serve it slightly below room temperature with grilled ribeye steak as the wine's robust structure and layered depth will enhance the charred meat's savory richness beautifully, or pair it with aged Gruyère cheese where the wine's intensity and persistent finish will complement the cheese's nutty complexity perfectly. The estate is managed under the guidance of Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix, the esteemed family firm that oversees many of Pomerol's finest estates including Premier Grand Cru Classé Château Bélair-Monange in Saint-Émilion, with Christian Moueix providing the guiding vision since 1971 and his son Édouard now taking over. Situated on a sun-drenched plateau that slopes gently southward, the fifteen-hectare vineyard was recognized in the Cocks & Féret guides as early as 1922 as one of the appellation's finest wines, planted on ancient quaternary gravel brought from the volcanic Massif Central with iron-rich clay beneath. Enjoy now through the end of the decade or cellar for 1-2 years.

Food pairings: grilled ribeye steak, aged Gruyère cheese, braised venison with root vegetables.
