Domaine La Fourmone Sélection Maître De Chais Vacqueyras 2009, Rhône A.P., France: Total seduction on the nose with layers of black fleshy fruit almost coming in waves like a satin blanket. Then there's lots of toasty oak, but it remains in good tension with the dark fruit. This blend is mostly Grenache, always sexy and plush, and some Syrah and Mourvèdre grapes. This wine is more robust than the two other wines this producer (Famille Combe, vign.-recolt.) makes in similar style. It deserves your attention.
