Natalie's Score: 89/100

This supple red wine features coffee espresso on the nose and palate from the toasty oak aging. Lovely smoky richness and layering of dark fruit flavours. Looking for a breakfast wine? Okay, maybe not. But if you love espresso and coffee wafting from your glass, give this wine a try. Some black raspberry and mocha on the finish. Great price.

Pinotage food pairings: biscotti, blackened lamb burgers, smoked cheese, braised beef in a Porter reduction.

Darlene Myers CAPS Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

One of the South African Pinotage wines using the Bertus 'Starbucks' Fourie coffee style wines. This was tasty and the mocha and coffee flavors and aromas were not as strong as in some others I have tried. The fruit was front and center as well. It's a juicy flavorful wine that would go well with smoky cheeseburgers.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
