Red Wine

Bleasdale Bremerview Shiraz 2022, Langhorne Creek, Australia: Bleasdale's Bremerview Shiraz from Langhorne Creek is a vibrant, medium to full-bodied red wine showcasing notes of red plum, black cherry, cracked pepper and dried sage. This dry wine displays balanced tannins and impressive freshness that will continue to evolve over the next three years. Serve it at room temperature with herb-crusted leg of lamb as the wine's savory character complements the rosemary and garlic, or pair it with grilled beef tenderloin where the wine's bright acidity cuts through the rich meat. Winemaker Paul Hotker employs a partial whole berry fermentation technique, leaving fifteen percent of the fruit on skins for extended maceration before aging the wine in French oak puncheons and hogsheads with minimal new oak influence. Bleasdale is one of Australia's oldest family-owned wineries, established in 1850 by Reverend Augustus Short, and the estate's historic stone winery remains in use today, making it a living monument to South Australian wine history. This food-friendly Shiraz represents exceptional value and will drink beautifully through 2028. Shiraz food pairings: rosemary and garlic rubbed shoulder of lamb, bison burgers, veal Porterhouse.
