A heart of darkness runs through this rich, deep, full-bodied wine. This wine is blend of Syrah and Grenache grapes, from a region you should put on your radar. This is an incredible price. Buy by the caseload for parties and your own pleasure. This wine was fermented in stainless steel and aged in concrete tank amazing price for this quality. Seductive fleshy red cherries, satin texture and a finish that goes on forever. One of the best pinot noirs that I’ve tasted in quite some time. Why do I always fall in love with the expensive ones? Domaine Louis Jadot Beaune Theurons 1Er Cru Pinot Noir 2010, A.C., Burgundy, France: Absolutely splendid: The aromas of violets and wild fleshy cherry tumble out of the bottle in a profusion for the senses. Medium- to almost full-bodied with a luxurious velvet texture. Please get me a case for my birthday. (Did you know my birthday’s tomorrow?) This wine will also do well in the cellar. Champy Signature Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2010, A.C., Burgundy, France: Gorgeous layers of voluptuously rich fleshy cherry-berry fruit. The nose is so aromatic, it'll draw you head-first into the glass. Rich and textured, this is amazing quality for this price point. I like the mouth-watering acidity for a wide range of dishes from smoked salmon to roast chicken. Seductive nose of black cherry and blackberry liqueur, anise underbrush, cedar. Aromatic, complex, layered and deep with a very long finish. Worth every penny. Try with hearty meat dishes. Taurino Riserva Salice Salentino 2009, D.O.P., Puglia, Italy: Peppery with dark spices and black fruit on the nose. Savoury, meaty and full-bodied with juicy smooth layers of pleasure. This is mostly the Negroamaro grape with a splash of Malvasia Nera. Terrific depth, balance and elegance. Attractive dark fruit and spice on the finish.
