Red Wine

Eau Vivre Winery and Vineyards Pinot Noir 2008, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia BC V.Q.A., Canada: A lovely, medium-bodied red with a silky smooth texture. Enticing aromas of tart cherry, wild violets and a hint of smoke. Balanced and mouth-watering. Very versatile with food, from planked salmon to roast chicken. Pinot Noir food pairings: charcuterie and cheese plate with a little crusty baguette. Drink: 2012 - 2016 308353 13.3% D 750 mL $24.95 Score: 90/100. January 2012. Top Rated Red Wine Full Review Add to Shopping Cart

Masserie Pisari Primitivo 2010, I.G.T., Salento Rosso, Puglia, Italy: A delicious, full-bodied red at a great price. Lots of complexity and richness here with aromas of black plum and blackberry. A nice long finish. Primitivo from Italy, like this one, and Zinfandel from California are the same grapes. Pair with meat lovers' pizza or hamburgers. Drink: 2012 - 2015 270306 14% D 750 mL $14.95 Score: 89/100. January 2012. Full Review Add to Shopping Cart

Marchesi Mazzei Zisola Nero D'avola 2009, I.G.T., Sicily, Italy: Terrific black fruit aromas and espresso notes on the nose and palate. Some anise and pepper on the finish. Lushly weighted and fulsome with lots of layers of pleasure. Pair with herbed chicken or brisket. Nero D'avola food pairings: slow-roasted rump roast with root vegetables. Drink: 2012 - 2016 303925 13.5% XD 750 mL $25.95 Score: 91/100. January 2012. Full Review Add to Shopping Cart
