Beringer Q 2018, Napa Valley, California, United States: Beringer Q 2018 is a robust red wine blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Petite Sirah. Fragrant with dark cherry and spicy aromas on the nose; dry and vibrant with spiced plum, blackcurrant, cherry, dark berry, savoury herb flavours rich on the palate. Acidity is edgy and tannins are firm and grippy. Shows a lot of promise, but needs some time in cellar to unwind. Try in 2023. Pour with bison burgers from the grill. Food pairings: pork sausage casserole, roast chicken, grilled rib eye steak.
