Inniskillin Niagara Estate Riesling Icewine 2007, V.Q.A., Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada: Vintages Wine Panel: Both a pioneer and indefatigable innovator of Icewine, Inniskillin stands as the world leader of Canada’s vinous treasure. The incredible 2007 vintage in Niagara is one for the record books. My note: Riesling-based icewine is my favorite hands down. It has greater complexity and balance than other grapes because of the terrific combination of acidity and fruit. Notes of ripe pear, apricot, peach and honey. Inniskillin certainly knows how to make a masterful icewine. This is truly a benchmark of the breed.
