Fresne Ducret Le Chemin Du Chemin Champagne, Champagne A.O.C., France: Grower estates in Champagne tend to show more of the vineyard's own character than the big houses do, and Fresne Ducret's Le Chemin du Chemin is a good case in point. Golden pear and brioche arrive with a fine, persistent mousse from the traditional method. Dry and crisp, with a savoury, yeasty depth. A touch of citrus zest sticks around at the end.
