White Wine
Levert Frères Mâcon-Bussiéres Blanc 2022, Mâcon-Bussiéres, Burgundy, France: Levert Frères Mâcon-Bussières from Burgundy is a dry, medium-bodied white Chardonnay revealing plenty of grapefruit and lemon freshness with a nice balance of Asian pear and white nectarine ripeness and vitality on the palate, finishing refreshingly with a well-integrated touch of texture. Serve it chilled with grilled Dover sole with lemon-herb butter, where the wine's citrus freshness and balanced ripeness complement the delicate fish while its refreshing finish cuts through the richness, or pair it with steamed mussels in white wine broth as the wine's grapefruit and lemon notes echo the aromatic broth while its crisp acidity stands up to the briny shellfish. Winemaker Pascal Levert oversees production at this family estate in the Mâconnais, the southern part of Burgundy where clay-limestone soils and a warmer climate produce Chardonnays with generous fruit balanced by mineral tension and bright acidity. This refreshing white Mâcon offers excellent value for quality Burgundy and should be enjoyed now through 2026. Blanc food pairings: oysters on the half shell, grilled lemon-herbed chicken, sautéed sea scallops. Drink: 2025 - 2027 45448 12.5% XD 750 mL $37.95 Score: 90/100. December 2025. Sauternes 2022, Bordeaux, France: Maison Sichel's Sauternes is a luscious Bordeaux dessert wine sourced from vines whose average age is 50 years, showcasing beeswax, bitter orange preserve, poached nectarine and glazed papaya with beautifully balanced sweetness and refreshing acidity. This is the convenient half bottle size (375 ml) which is ideal when you'd like to begin a meal with a glass and half each to toast.
