Red Wine

Don Cristóal 1492 Bonarda 2023, Mendoza, Argentina: This Bonarda–Merlot blend charms with ripe blueberry and blackberry compote, soft plum undertones and a briny black olive edge, all buoyed by crisp acidity and silky, supple tannins. It’s a food-friendly red that welcomes robust pairings. Try it with creamy turkey tetrazzini, rich tagliatelle alla Bolognese or roasted veal for a harmonious interplay of fruit and savour. Other Wines/Drinks

Glenmorangie Original Highland Single Malt Scotch, United Kingdom, Scotland: Glenmorangie Original Highland Single Malt Scotch is a smooth, elegant whisky that offers layers of sun-ripened citrus, creamy vanilla, and gentle spice, with a whisper of almond and peach on the finish. It’s dry, medium-bodied, and silky. Serve it at room temperature to let the aromas unfold slowly in the glass, or cellar it for up to a decade to watch the complexity deepen and mature. Fascinating fact: Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie's Director of Distilling, has a PhD in yeast science and has been awarded Master Distiller/Blender of the Year four times by the International Whisky Competition. He also insists the stills at Glenmorangie are the tallest in Scotland—roughly the height of an adult giraffe—which may explain why the spirit is so refined. Pair it with seared duck breast drizzled in a citrus glaze to echo the whisky’s bright fruit notes and round finish. Or sip it alongside roasted pear and aged cheddar crostini for a salty-sweet contrast that keeps the palate intrigued. This whisky also elevates classic cocktails. Glenmorangie Original is a polished and welcoming single malt that delivers graceful complexity without a hint of pretension. I give it 95 points for balance, finesse, and being the sort of dram that can charm both the seasoned scotch lover and the newly curious.
